A nine-county regional agency created by state statute in 1988 to plan and develop a regional transit system. The nine member counties of the RTA are: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson.
Department's mission is to plan, implement, maintain and manage an integrated transportation system for the movement of people and products, with emphasis on quality, safety, efficiency and the environment.
